We arrived at Virginia Beach on Saturday morning. We stay in the southern part of the city where it is just houses on the beach, called Sandbridge. We've been staying in this area for the past 15 years. This year my youngest brother, Chris, couldn't join us, but my brother, Alex, and his girlfriend met us there, along with my parents. Sunday was our first day on the beach. Brady ran to the water like he did in Charleston He was excited to put on his flotation device, so we did and went out into deeper water. He was unusually crabby out there. Andy took him back up to the beach and when we joined them, Brady was playing with his sand toys. We noticed after a while that he was drinking salt water out of his small bucket. We'll have to work on that. After another half an hour of playing, he put all his toys in his basket, grabbed his shoes, and brought them to us, letting us know he was ready to leave. Andy took him back to the house for lunch and a nap, while the rest of us stayed. It wasn't until after our showers that we realized how burned we all were. We kept getting darker (or rather pinker) throughout the night. That's very typical of the first beach day and we will spend the rest of the week recovering.
